Katsina bans poster display at public places

The Katsina State government has banned the indiscriminate display of posters on public buildings.

 Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Malam Hamza Kurfi, announced the ban shortly after the state Security Council meeting in Katsina.

According to him, anyone caught pasting posters of political parties, politicians and others in public buildings would be arrested and prosecuted.

He said politicians, companies and others who might want to place their notification posters should seek permission from the appropriate authority.

Kurfi said the state urban planning development authority had been charged with the responsibility to give permit to whoever might wish to post a sign anywhere in the state.
