Army Investigates Fashola's Arrest of Colonel Officer

Authorities of the Nigerian Army have expressed its willingness to conduct discreet investigations into the alleged arrest of a Colonel and a Sergeant by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State for violation of traffic laws.

A statement by Assistant Director in charge of 81 Division Public Relations Department Lt. Col Kayode Ogunsanya said the attention of the Nigerian Army was drawn to some newspapers report over the arrest a Colonel and a Sergeant on Lagos BRT lane.

He said a soldier is always guided by the laws of the state he was domiciled in, saying military personnel in Lagos not on operational duties ought to comply with the BRT edict.

General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army Major General KTJ Minimah, according to him, directed that the incident be investigated and the personnel involved would be sanctioned accordingly.
