Governor locks out aides for lateness

The Benue State Head of Service, Mr Michael Iordye and two commissioners saw the other side of Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State, northcentral Nigeria, yesterday as they were locked out for arriving late for the weekly state executive council meeting.

The two Commissioners who were shut out alongside the Head of Service are the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Benjamin Ashaver and the Commissioner for Youth/ Sports, Mr. Aondowase Chia.

Report says that Governor Suswam, who arrived Government House very early for the meeting, ordered that any member of the state executive council who came in late should not be admitted into meeting room.

The cabinet members locked out were seen making frantic calls and apologising for their lateness and pleaded that they be allowed into the meeting room but all their pleas fell on deaf ears.
