Team Nigeria officials, athletes and scores of journalists who were part of the 2012 London Olympic Games will today depart London for Nigeria.
The closing ceremony of the world’s biggest sporting games took place at the Olympic Stadium yesterday at Stratford.
Nigeria’s contingent will leave in two separate aircrafts tonight at 10.30 pm from the Heathrow Airport. Already athletes who competed and had concluded their respective sports had also travelled their respective bases.
Director of press at the National Commission Tony Oheari told newsmen that both the sports minister, Bolaji Abdullahi and his Director General, Patrick Ekeji will fly out to Nigeria today.
He said most of the technical officials will leave today alongside their athletes.
The minister will fly British Airways while his director general will fly the Lufthansa.
Other Nigerian contingents will jet out through Arik Air.
Nigeria Olympic Committee president, Sani Ndanusa will lead his men at the NOC to fly Arik.
